In the Kiwatule neighborhood of Kampala, we have developed five town-homes on a corner plot. Each of these homes has a small backyard, an indoor patio, and a series of terraces. These features allow for natural lighting, ventilation, and a view of the lush greenery in this part of the city.
The houses are designed over two floors, with a ground floor for public spaces and an upper floor for bedrooms. We have used compressed earth blocks and steel structures in the construction to reduce the consumption of concrete and allow for recycling of materials in the future when the building’s lifecycle is over.
