CREATIVE ASSEMBLAGES AN INTERDISCIPLINARY PRACTICE

Our studio was founded in 2019 by Nerea Amorós Elorduy in Kampala. We pride ourselves on being interdisciplinary and adaptable. Our team draws on collective expertise in the built environment, design and social sciences to collaborate with clients and end-users including research organizations, private companies, NGOs, schools, cities, and displaced populations across different geographies.

Our interdisciplinary practice allows us to provide consultancy, design and build projects, develop research methods and perform data analysis.

Every project, regardless of its size or scope, provides us with an opportunity to explore diverse social, historical, and material aspects. We believe in using both traditional and innovative techniques that are context-specific, .remaining receptive to new ideas, and continuously learning.

Our priority is to develop sustainable projects that generate site-specific insights for each initiative we undertake.

Services

Architectural and Urban Design

From concept designs to design-built projects, we cover a range of services, including schematic, basic and executive architectural and urban design, furniture design and manufacture, structural and mechanical engineering, landscape design, construction permiting, and construction supervision. RESEARCH

Our interest includes research design and grant proposal phases to research implementation and output writing. We can lead or participate in small or large research projects, in partnership with academia or as R&D of private companies. Our team of experts covers a variety of research and data analysis methods. We specialise in participatory action research methodologies and methodologies to better include young children in knowledge production cycles. You can learn more about our research interests here.

CONSULTING

We provide our expertise as independent advisors or short-term consultants on projects related to young children’s environments, sustainable architectural and urban design and the spatial aspects of forced displacement. TRAINING AND OUTREACH

We publish, advocate, teach and participate in exhibitions, public lectures and talks internationally on topics related to architecture and urbanism as they relate to young children’s development, sustainability, social justice and forced migration. Our founder is a guest professor at UIC-Barcelona and a guest Speaker at the Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction at UCL.
